World Health Organization (WHO) lists malaria and measles as the leading causes of premature death in West Africa. Among children under five years of age, 70 percent of deaths are caused by infections compounded by malnutrition. EMOFRA AFRICA is dedicated to improving public health in West Africa by elevating the quality of medical care, disease prevention, and research.
Our goal is to build a clinic by 2012 which will serve as both a resource center and a free clinic to provide families with free vaccinations, general physical exams, and literature on an array of health topics. The center will be 100% free for those who cannot afford health care or do not have insurance. Please contact Emofra Africa if you would like to assist with the Free Clinic project. We are also accepting donations for medical supplies for the clinic.
Other than funds to accomplish our goals we are always accepting the following items to send to hospitals in West Africa:
AORTIC: African Organisation for Research & Training in Cancer
Cancer in Africa: Prevention, Treatment and Cure conference August 2010
Emofra Africa sponsors a Christmas party for the staff and patients of Ridge Hospital's pediatric ward in Accra, Ghana.
